The owner had medical issues and went to a used Champ for LSA

Labor Day signifies the end of the lazy, hazy days of summer. We’re all busy getting the kids ready for school and all the other activities that will begin in the fall.
The weather has been hot, but fortunately there wasn’t a drought. The grass has been growing rapidly.
There is some good news, inasmuch as the price of avgas and jetA have gone down. Of course, with hurricane Isaac hitting the gulf, it might be an excuse to raise prices.
In September there will be a Green Show in the hangar. So go flying and check it out.

 Welcome to Our Staff
CFII Rob Argila has joined our staff, performing Introductory Lessons on the weekend. By mid-September, he will be a full time instructor. Our relationship with Rob is a long one – his father Bob flew with us when we were at Kupper (47N). Bob recently retired from American Airlines, and still works with us with aircraft sales.

September issues of magazines bring folks affiliated with Princeton Airport into the news.
First, Costco Connection’s cover page features Campbells CEO, Denise Morrison. Denise and her husband, Tom, are both pilots and chose to base their airplane here.
Jon Nierenberg, elder son of Naomi and Dick Nierenberg, and brother of Ken, is featured in Alaska Magazine. Jon has lived in Alaska for 20 years. In the winter Jon takes clients into Denali National Park after a training session with the dogs and sled. For the summer season, Jon built Earthsong Lodge, just outside Denali (Mt. McKinley). Twelve cabins, Henry’s Roadhouse, and lots of dogs that now have a recently built dog barn. www.earthsonglodge.com

In the past, I have suggested aviation museums and attractions. Among my favorite museums are The Naval Aviation Museum, Pensacola, FL; the Air Force Museum, Dayton, OH; Wright Brothers Museum. Kitty Hawk, NC, and the Evergreen Museum, Mcminnville, OR.
This month, I would like to encourage you to consider a visit to the Glenn Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport, NY. Situated at the south end of Keuka Lake in the Finger Lake District of New York State, it could not be in a more beautiful area. The nearest GA airport is 7N1, Corning-Painted Post, about 15 miles away. To the north, at the north end of Keuka Lake is KPEO, Penn Yann about 25 miles away. By car, plan on a five hour drive with a stop in Corning, NY.

The 8/19/12 PAFT fly-in to Block Island was a great time with 13 members in 5 planes.
The next PAFT dinner will be on Wed. 9/12/12 at Tusk restaurant, Rt 206 in Montgomery.
